Policies
Nutrition
Play Ranch Family Child Care will provide substantial breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks. Please do not bring candy, gum, money, or toys (we provide a wide variety of toys and children this age find it difficult to share their personal property.)
Rest Time
Rest time for all is approximately between 12:00 pm and 3:00 pm. A blanket from home is fine, but should be used for nap time only and not carried about.
Dress
Please bring a change of clothing for your child marked with their name.
Diapers
Parents must supply all diapers, wipes, ointments, and powders. Play Ranch Family Child Care will dispose of same.
Toilet Training
This is an achievement that occurs according to a child’s individual development timetable. I highly advise that your child be ready, willing and able to assist in dressing themselves. Furthermore, children having made progress in the home have achieved much more success.
Illness
Children with a contagious illness or fever will not be accepted due to concerns of the health of other children in the program.
Medication
I can only administer prescription medication when the prescription information is clearly labeled on the medicine.
KEEP YOUR CHILD AT HOME IF HE OR SHE HAS
A temperature over 101 degrees in the morning
Conjunctivitis, an eye infection commonly referred to as “pink eye.” The eye is generally red with some burning and there may be a thick yellow secretion.
Bronchitis, which can begin with hoarseness, cough, and a slight elevation of temperature. The cough may be dry and painful, but generally becomes mucus-laden.
Rashes that you cannot identify or that have not been diagnosed by a physician.
Impetigo of the skin, which shows up as red pimples. These eventually become small blisters surrounded by a reddened area. When blisters break, the surface is raw a weeping. The lesions occur in moist areas of the body such as the creases of the neck, groin, underarm, face, hands, or the edge of a diaper.
Diarrhea occurring more than three times a day.
Vomiting occurring more than the usual spitting
Sever cold with fever, sneezing and nose drainage.
If your child shows any of the symptoms of becoming ill such as those stated above, he or she must not be brought to the day care until 24 hours after the symptoms have disappeared. If your child becomes ill while at day care, parent /guardian will be notified and arrangements must be made for your child to be picked up. Please be sure that I have your current emergency telephone number, and the name and telephone number of a relative or friend who may pick up your child in your place.
